Carers Advocacy Service

What is Advocacy?

Advocacy is providing support to disadvantaged groups by taking action to help them have a voice, support their rights, represent their interests and obtain the services they are entitled to. Advocacy promotes social inclusion and equality and assists people to explore their choices and options.

Aims of the YVHSC Project:

YVHSC will be providing a carers advocacy service to assist carers with the particular issues they face in their day to day lives. Carers will be able to refer themselves for support as well as third party referrals with consent being accepted. Carers will be allocated an advocate who will support them to address their specific concerns and work towards achieving the outcomes they desire. Advocates will work to empower carers to feel more in control of their lives and will help them to develop their own advocacy skills where possible.

Please complete our attached referral form or alternatively email or telephone us at 02036032438 and we will send you out a copy.
